Remember when there used to be guild fights outside raid instances/summon stones?

Back before WM was created, every raid night used to have gang fights outside the raid instances / summon stones? Thank God those days are over.

Used to be called coward for not helping the guilt fight at the entrance. Would turtle mode and run back into the raid instance to hearth to safety…

Yeah ,I remember when opening pvp was an opps away. Only took one person to flag the whole group yeah fun times.

Yeah, it was an easy way to find out which guild was progressing and which guild had the raid on farm.

I figured based on how much Ragemode trolled about player performance, that he was a good player. Then again, he’s a big troll so I guess that should have made me realize otherwise.

I always liked going out there and PvP. The whole point of raiding back in the day, during the ResidentSleeper / ResidentBoomer days of raiding, was to get gear to PvP - why even raid if you weren’t going to take your gains and fight with it?

This is part of the problem with modern raiding - lots of raiders are bad players who raid because they can’t get better gear elsewhere. It’s why they got mad about PvP back in the day, and it’s why they get mad about M+ in modern day.

The area around the Scarlet Monastery summoning stone was a constant battleground, from Vanilla through Wrath. Sure, there were times when that was a bit frustrating…but there were other times when it was the most fun the game offered. I remember one time when it got so big, the fighting spread all the way to Brill. It was the definition of “Epic”.

People who hate PvP pretend world PvP never had any stakes and that people “just got bored of it” and that’s why people don’t world PvP anymore.

No, world PvP has evaporated because War Mode made zone control irrelevant. Carebears who pretend they’re “hard” go War Mode Off to do their raid content. I think this has also contributed to raid guilds being worse - back in the day you had to have some level of tenacity to survive on a PvP server but nowadays all of the bad players are in the same pool as everyone else, the PvE Andys mixed in with the more skilled PvP server players.

Such a big shame. Unfortunately I don’t think you can ever put that Genie back in the bottle. World PvP is probably RIP forever, especially with everything as CRZ’d as they are.

Ragemode thread that’s not about BM hunter. Proud of you.

I miss these so much. :frowning: I think there should be a guild open world fight like bdo did.

I remember going to Uldir and seeing the swarm of hordies just camping outside the raid.

WPVP has always been trash, but it’s even more so nowadays due to the incredibly uneven faction population, and War Mode rewards being awful, and PVP being an unbalanced crap fest where some specs are literally, inherently better than others. God forbid you encountered a tank or healer on your dps character.

And of course, instead of actually improving on the system from BFA, they just forgot about it entirely.

I was there during the prepatch event of BFA darkshore…and 9,000 Alliance waiting at the NPC quest giver for me.

I sprinted like a fool after they went chasing after another person.

World PvP is non-existent in classic and it doesn’t have war mode.

It was a novelty that lost its charm over time, that’s all.

Your hatred toward raiders (maybe from missing out on CE both tier in SL despite trying?) is always amazing though.

You need to mention hunter in your post unless I didn’t read it properly. It’s part of your charm

Remember when ppl used to be asking for more to join a pug raid group in trade chat?

Game feels so empty now.

I wouldn’t use the term “bad player” in as much as I’m not great at it, but I’m not bad either. I’ve never understood how great you’re supposed to be before stepping foot in these places. And yeah, I could use the gear. “Git gud” has always been the most ridiculous and humorous phrase I’ve heard used.

Nobody good at PvP plays WoW Classic for its PvP, lol. That’s why. Back in the day there was one version of WoW and now there’s not.

I would bet $$$ if you removed War Mode and brought back PvP servers in Retail, PvP Servers would continue to be the more popular servers for high-end players. PvP Server distinctions were removed to pander to salty bois who wanted to app for better guilds but didn’t want to be ganked, and world PvP died as a result. Why would I be fine with that?

Isn’t it a paradox to be against the removal of Master Looter because “you can find a guild who doesn’t use master looter” but also be for the removal of PvP Servers? Bad raiders could just find a guild on a PvE server… but Blizzard tore down that wall to pander, and that’s basically what the situation with Master Looter was as well.

I’m over m+ not bc I was bad but bc I feel like it’s world of m+ now. I’m on strike. Used to find it fun now I do not. Seems rather simple to comprehend imo

Yeah it does feel empty then they will come back for dragonflight but not a large group to be honest. Blizzard really pushed a large group of players away permanently

They need an intervention to gain ppls trust back.

I’ve hardly met anyone who likes all the systems. It’s been way too much.

To be honest trust is lost forever that’s why that old saying does
