Abingdon-on-Thames is a vibrant market town with a population of just over 33,000 people. The town council is a parish council under the Local Government Act 1972 and is the successor authority in terms of parish functions to Abingdon Borough Council.

Our vision is to develop a vibrant and attractive modern market town which celebrates its history and which people will be proud of and want to share with visitors, a town that is economically vibrant, attractive to look at and which has a lively social and cultural scene and strong community cohesion.
