The 15th edition of Tourism in Paris - Key Figures offerts a detailed analysis of a year in wich the number of tourists visiting the city was severely affected by the terrible attacks in Paris, Brussels and Nice, as well as by flooding, strikes, violent demonstrations and robberies. However, less than a year after the attacks of November 2015, 2016 also saw renewed groth. Few Cities could have been capable of such a rapid turnaround. The more favourable economic climate, both in France and on a number of foreign markets, is one of the explanations for this recovery that has been confirmed at the start of 2017. Another explanation is the strong image of the Franch capital and its reassertion during major international events such as the Euro 2016 football tournament.
