I have noticed a large influx of bots since we had the "AI and CAD" thread. Maybe a coincidence, maybe not. But the thing is, there are bots and I have spotted couple of AI(ChatGPT) generated answers and question on GC. Here is a glaring example from today.


From my GPT account:

that means GC will be more SPAMMY and unbearable in the future. Fix it now and be gone forever.

Not citing sources and taking credit for an answer, model, or anything else is plagiarism and against GC rules. It seems that we always fall into the same common places...


Beyond the rules in a certain context, in general this implies a deception and an underestimation of people.

It seems to me that ChatGPT is considerably more eloquent and trustworthy than the vast majority of GrabCAD 'engineers'...!

Except ChatGPT has a ways to go when it comes to technical questions.


Yesterday someone posted an answer on a Facebook group regarding calculating the fillet radius on a 3D model. They admitted the answer was from ChatGPT. The answer was not only completely wrong, it was so convoluted it almost made no sense.


I also asked ChatGPT a programming question yesterday for a problem I have not been able to figure out for years. The answer was impressive, but wrong.


It's not quite ready for prime time.

It's the reason I withdrew all models from my page years ago, but one, more like a logo. I keep that profile only for freelance jobs. Pity for the potential this portal has had!
