Polls

 

  • Eurobarometer this is a survey conducted by the European Union of the public opinion of its member states. These surveys "address major topics concerning European citizenship: enlargement, social situation, health, culture, information technology, environment, the Euro, defence, etc."
  • Gallup Poll "The Gallup Poll covers new social and business-related issues every week. Special reports provide in-depth analysis on social and commercial issues around the world. Key reports and data are archived from March 96 to present."
  • Gallup Poll Monthly a print publication housed in the Reference Department. Indexed by Lexis Nexis Statistical CU choose "Search Abstracts" to get summaries of articles.
  • Institute for Research in Social Science Public Opinion Poll Question Database The "archive currently contains over 350 state-level studies (consisting of over 31,000 questions) from 22 survey organizations in 19 states. Archived data are included in the IRSS Public Opinion Poll Question Database, which allows researchers to search by question wording, date, and state to identify questions of interest. The index displays the full question text and marginals for each item retrieved. It is useful to researchers who wish to look up marginals for particular items, as well as to those who wish to examine previously asked questions for the purpose of designing their own questionnaires."
  • The Pew Research Center for People & The Press "The Center's purpose is to serve as a forum for ideas on media and public policy through the conduct of public opinion research. In this role it serves as an important information resource for political leaders, journalists, scholars, and public interest organizations."
  • Polling Report.com summarizes polls conducted by polling organizations such as Gallup, Harris, and Pew Research Center. Poll results grouped into the following areas: Politics & Policy, Business & Economy, and American Scene.
  • Public Agenda Online--non-partisan public opinion and policy analysis. The issues library contains background information on an issue, including a fact file and two or more positions on an issue. In addition, the site provides a sampling of public opinion on the issue.
  • Polling the Nations CU This database contains a compilation of more than 14,000 surveys conducted by more than 700 polling organizations in the United States and more than 80 other countries from 1986 to the present.
