Our society was established in 1996 to foster interdisciplinary research
in Israel and to provide a forum for Israeli scientists to discuss research
in theoretical biology, mathematical-biology, computational biology, biophysics,
and mathematics applied to or motivated by biology.

Aims of ISTMB:
to stimulate
collaboration between scientists of different backgrounds who are interested
in research in theoretical and mathematical biology;
to encourage
students in the direction of theoretical or mathematical biology;
to represent
interests of the theoretical-mathematical biology research and act as a
connecting body with governmental bodies, the National Academy of Science
and High Education Institutions in Israel;
to convey
the significance of the research in Theoretical and Mathematical Biology
to the public;
to develop
contacts with similar societies in other countries.
